Sam Hodgson currently works as the Photo Editor for the online, non-profit newspaper voiceofsandiego.org

Before joining Voice full time, Sam worked as a reporter at The San Diego Daily Transcript and as the City Editor for San Diego State's independent student newspaper The Daily Aztec.

Before graduating SDSU in May 2006, Sam worked as an intern at Voice, where he covered the business of sports and local political issues.

He was the 2006 recipient of an Associated Students Presidential Leadership Award and has taken the top prizes for collegiate news, feature and investigative reporting from both the California Collegiate Media Association and the San Diego Society of Professional Journalists. He also contributed to "Affordable No More," which won the 2006 National SPJ award for online investigative reporting.
