Cliff Albert

Cliff is one of San Diego’s leading radio personalities and is a veteran broadcast journalist of more than 25 years. 

As Director of News and Programming for Newsradio 600 KOGO and Program Director for Progressive Talk AM 1360 KLSD,  Cliff Albert oversees the programming on two of Clear Channel Radio’s premier news-talk radio stations.

His “Cliff Notes on the News” news commentaries, which are heard weekday mornings on KOGO, have won top awards including several Golden Mics over the last several years.  He has won numerous local and national awards for journalism excellence from the San Diego Press Club, the Associated Press and United Press International.  He has won a National Headliners Club Award and an International Radio-TV News Directors Association Award.  Cliff also has been honored by the San Diego Press Club as recipient of the award for “Enlightened News Management”.

Cliff is currently an adjunct professor in the Department of Communications at Point Loma Nazarene University where his youngest son, Weston, is majoring in Broadcast Journalism.  Cliff taught broadcasting for eight years at San Diego State University where his two older children, Erin (‘99) and Ryan (‘01`) both graduated from SDSU with degrees in Journalism.

Cliff has served as a volunteer for the PTA, the San Diego County Child Abuse Prevention Foundation, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.  He also is active in his church congregation, First Lutheran Church in El Cajon and has served on the national Communications Advisory Board for the Lutheran Church.

Cliff has been married to his high school sweetheart, Marianne, since 1972. They have three children, Erin who’s married to Ian, Ryan who’s married to Sarah and Weston, who is a student at Point Loma Nazarene University.
